Marriage Conversation - Before you say i do !!!
Hello Guys,
Wassup ?
Yesterday one of my childhood friend advised me to write a blog on "How to start a Marriage Conversation".That is why I am writing this blog for all those people who are going through this phase.
Arrange marriages are common in India. I have an arranged marriage (we prefer to say love marriage though) and before I met him, I had met 3 other guys and to be frank
Arranged marriage first conversation is kind of awkward. Like how can you suddenly start asking questions to some stranger? Ghosshhhhh :D
So,If you are planning to start a conversation and know about the person you want to marry then here are some tips for you.
Keep below points in mind-
- first you need to find out whether it is a genuine proposal or not (You will have to find it by yourself)
- Just be Yourself and do not try to impress anyone
- If you feeling shy or uncomfortable on talking over phone, start with text messages (It is always good to send message first)
- Try not to give too much information about you in your first conversation
- Checkout about him/her on LinkedIn, Facebook or any other social media site (By the way, our
generation does this thing first, hahaha)
- Ask him/her to meet at a place where you will feel comfortable
- Knowing a person in a few meetings is something which is very difficult whether he or she is from a matrimonial website or any other platform. So do not hurry and take your time to know about him/her better because people cannot fake their personality more than a specific time
- Talk about some special memory which is good to share with her/him
- You can ask about his/her lifestyle and values
- Follow not only your heart but also your brain
- It is good to get comfortable with each other but know your boundaries
- You can ask him/her about his likes, dislikes, hobbies, music taste, favorite foods, his friends etc etc.
- Talk about your Flaws and ask his/her Flaws
- Do not make any physical conversations until and unless you are absolutely sure that you would like to take things forward with that person
- Give the other person space to ask you questions
- Don't fire the questions like you are in a job interview
- You can use your Observational skill
All the Best :)
